For eight evenings, chef Giancarlo Morelli embarks on a gastronomic journey to discover the most authentic Italy, accompanied by female chefs who represent the culinary excellence of their territories. This unique and exciting event, titled “Viaggio in arte culinaria” (Journey in the Kitchen), celebrates the diversity and richness of Italian cuisine, showcasing the talents of both established and emerging female chefs.

The idea behind this gastronomic adventure was born from Morelli’s desire to pay homage to the women who have made a significant contribution to the Italian culinary scene. “I have always been fascinated by the passion and creativity of female chefs. They bring a unique touch to traditional dishes and constantly push the boundaries of Italian cuisine,” says Morelli.

The journey begins in the picturesque region of Piedmont, where Morelli is joined by chef Mariangela Susigan, owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant Gardenia in Caluso. Together, they create a menu that highlights the region’s famous truffles and other local delicacies. From there, the journey continues to Lombardy with chef Viviana Varese of Alice taverna in Milan, who brings her innovative approach to traditional Milanese dishes.

As the journey progresses, Morelli and his female counterparts explore the flavors of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Puglia, and Sicily. Each evening, they work together to create a unique menu that reflects the region’s culinary identity, using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.

One of the highlights of the event is the collaboration between Morelli and chef Antonia Klugmann, owner of L’Argine a Vencò in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Known for her use of local and seasonal ingredients, Klugmann brings her expertise to the table, creating a menu that perfectly captures the essence of her region.

The final stop on this culinary journey is the island of Sardinia, where Morelli is joined by chef Cristina Bowerman, the first female chef in Rome to receive a Michelin star. Together, they showcase the island’s unique flavors and traditions, creating a memorable dining experience for all.

But Viaggio in arte culinaria is not just about the food. It’s also about the stories and experiences of these talented female chefs. Throughout the journey, they share their passion for cooking and their personal connections to their respective regions. It’s a celebration of diversity, creativity, and the rich culinary heritage of Italy.

Morelli hopes that this event will not only showcase the talents of these incredible female chefs but also inspire and empower more women to pursue their dreams in the culinary world. “I believe that women have a unique perspective on food, and it’s important to give them a platform to showcase their skills and talents,” says Morelli.

Viaggio in arte culinaria is a true celebration of Italian cuisine, where tradition meets innovation, and diversity is celebrated. It’s a journey that will leave a lasting impression on both the chefs and the diners, as they discover the true essence of Italy through its food. So, come and join chef Giancarlo Morelli and his talented female counterparts on this unforgettable gastronomic adventure. Buon appetito!
